Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could opt for the robot to clean up the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan.
